El puente atirantado Vanšu Bridge sobre el río Daugava en Riga se inauguró el 21 de julio de 1981. Originalmente se llamaba Gorky Bridge. A partir de ahora tiene el vano más largo de todos los puentes de su tipo en el mundo.
